Hello everybody,
As the Madison dance community continues to grow, we've been seeing a growing need for more dances, and an even bigger venue. On Sunday, March 26th, Marc Statz will be hosting a big ecstatic dance where with the goal to gather 100 people together to spread the dance movement further into the world, exposing more people to the incredible power of being embodied within an exciting community. Young, old, short, tall, normal, weird, everyone is welcomed and every dance move encouraged.
What is ecstatic dance?
Ecstatic dance is a form of free-dance in which the dancers let go of themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to a flow state and a feeling of ecstacy. Dancers are described as feeling connected to others, and to their own emotions. The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping people to cope with stress and to attain serenity. Ecstatic dance has been practiced throughout human history as a way to commune in ceremony or in celebration.
What is the schedule?
10:15 - Doors open
10:30 - Opening circle, John Stuart leads us in a guided meditation
10:40 - 11:30 - John Stuart DJ set
11:30 - 12:20 - Marc Statz DJ set
12:20 - 12:30 - Closing meditation and grounding
12:30 - 1:00 - Mingle, drink more tea, pack up and leave
Throughout the event, we will be serving tea from our Tea Master, Nick Dodge!
Who are the hosts?
Marc Statz is an artist and music producer with an love for producing music, dancing, tea and making art. He studied 3D animation in school and created an animation studio as a way to create impact while also having the freedom and flexibility to create music and events centered around sound and mindfulness. He has been producing for 5 years and all of the music played in the event are all original creations.
John Stuart aka LoveAmplified is an accomplished sound alchemist as a DJ, producer/MC and Vibrational Medicine practitioner.
For over 25 years, his dynamic style beckons the masses to partake with him on an alchemical journey through sound. To be in John’s presence is to experience his very special brand of mind-expanding, body-grooving & soul-soothing soundscapes, which he uses as a medium to amplify the spirit of personal expression, oneness, freedom & love.

We are trying a flexible pricing model for these events to give opportunity to those who feel called to contribute more as an investor to create more dance opportunities while also leaving room for people who want to keep things sustained. Finances should not be prohibitive to anyone, as the goal is to create events where dance is accessible to all. With that said, creating these kinds of events are time consuming, cost money to rent the space, to support the team and the artists. The exchange goes back into the support, creation and expansion of more awesome events.
